Back Jan 2009Tek leads panel session “Standards in Engineering” at LISA Forum Europe
Dublin, Ireland. – December 9, 2008 – At the past LISA Forum Europe, David Ruane, Director of WW Engineering of Tek Translation International, moderated the panel session "Standards in Engineering - Evaluations, Project Structures and Technical Validation" at the conference on Tuesday, December 9th, at 11:00am.
During this session, an array of industry veterans from client and service companies (Symantec, Novell and Polish Association of Translation Agencies) joined Dave as they investigated how standards can apply to the localization processes, tools and technical functions and whether this can achieve longer term gains.
In addition, David Ruane also participated at the “Executive Roundtable:
Assessing Software Globalization Development” on Monday, December 8th, at 9:00am. During this session staff from four companies (IBM, Xerox, Adobe and F-Secure) presented information in a roundtable fashion to explore the possibility of creating a standard on how to assess the globalization level (world readiness) of software.
Tek was also represented at the Conference by Iñaki Hernández-Lasa, Solutions Development Manager, Europe, who showcased the Tek OneWorld Platform. With 14 years in the field, he is a recognized expert in Linguistic Engineering, Enterprise Terminology Management, Localisation Web Services and Portals. Iñaki also holds a Master’s degree in Applied Languages from Dublin City University.
In addition, Tek (Booth #1) featured live demonstrations of its current products and services along with previews of its most advanced technologies now in development.
